How DVA Cleaning Works in Melbourne

If you hold a DVA Gold or White Card and an accepted condition makes housework hard to manage, DVA may fund your home cleaning. The funded cleaning we provide is through DVA Household Services, and we invoice DVA directly, so you're not out of pocket and there's nothing for you to claim back.

DVA Household Services (HHS)
This is the programme we clean under. It's for veterans whose accepted service-related condition makes everyday housework difficult. DVA assesses your need, approves the support, and pays us directly. To get started, speak to your DVA case manager or Rehabilitation Coordinator, or call DVA on 1300 550 450 to arrange an assessment. Once you're approved, we take care of the rest.

Veterans' Home Care (VHC)
VHC is the other DVA programme that covers cleaning, but it's delivered by providers contracted to DVA and assigned through your assessment agency. We're not a VHC provider, so the DVA cleaning we offer is through Household Services.

What's Included in Your DVA Clean

Your clean follows a regular routine, built around the support DVA has approved and agreed with your cleaner. As your needs change, we can adjust the routine and flag anything that might need a review with DVA.

For funded work, no. Once you're approved for DVA Household Services, DVA pays for the cleaning and we invoice them directly, so there's nothing for you to pay or claim back. If you'd like cleaning on top of what DVA covers, we can arrange that privately and confirm the cost with you first.

A DVA cleaner provides regular house cleaning that's funded by the Department of Veterans' Affairs for an eligible veteran, rather than paid for out of pocket. DVA approves the support, the cleaner does the domestic work, and the provider invoices DVA directly. At Excel, this is delivered through DVA Household Services.

Routine matters, especially if you're older, have mobility limits, or rely on a familiar face for support. If your regular cleaner is unavailable, we'll let you know in advance and send a trained replacement who's been briefed on your needs.
